Why & How to Clean Your Magnetic Lashes
Why & How to Clean Your Magnetic Lashes
We already know that magnetic lashes 🧲 are the best! 🤩
They are…
- Far easier to apply than glue strip lashes so you don’t have to spend hours putting them on.
- Stay on all day so you don’t have to worry about then coming off.
- Can be worn up to 50 times so you save a lot of money.
- Are water-proof so you don’t have to worry about sweat, tears, rain, or humidity damaging your lashes.
- Not to mention they make you look and feel amazing!
- The list goes on…
There are so many good things to say about magnetic lashes 🧲 that we could spend hours talking about it 🤩…
But, we want to cover a VERY important subject…
…How to care for and maintain your magnetic lashes once you are a magnetic lash user!
…Why You Should Clean Your Magnetic Lashes…
The Quick Answer: Clean lashes ensure your lashes LAST up to 50 individual wears and work optimally (i.e. staying all day through each individual wear).
Clean lashes also mean you don’t have to replace your magnetic lashes too often saving you a lot of time and energy ordering new products.
The Explanation: One of the big problems with glue strip lashes is that the glue damages the lashes causing you to have to throw away the lashes after only a few uses.
Talk about a waste of money! 🤬
One of the big advantages of magnetic lashes is that the magnetic liner won’t damage your lashes in the same way as glue.
So, your lashes last longer and perform better over time. 🥳

Nonetheless, an excess of magnetic liner can build up on the lash band over time and after each use, which can reduce the lash’s magnetic quality causing the lash to not attach as well to the liner.
And, this makes sense, right?
You can imagine that if you cover the tiny 10 magnets on the lash band with liner they are not able to attach to the magnetic liner on your eye line.
So, you must remove the magnetic liner residue from the magnetic lashes after EVERY WEAR to ensure the lifespan of the magnets and the lash. 🥰
Now, we are going to get to how to clean your magnetic lashes in a moment…
But, first, let’s cover another important subject closely related to maintaining your magnetic lashes…
…how to properly store your magnetic lashes…
Here is why you should properly store your magnetic lashes:
- The Quick Answer: Improper storage can cause you to lose your lashes or damage them, which could result in reduced performance or the lashes simply being destroyed!
The Explanation: Although the lashes are tough and made from high-quality materials, they are still relatively delicate and can be damaged if they are too roughly handled.
In addition, the shape of the eyelash is an important factor in how the lashes work.
Specifically, all of Everylash’s magnetic lashes are designed with a natural curve to fit the shape of your eyes.👀
They are delivered to you in a package that preserves this natural curve. 🎁
If the lash is left outside of the package or not attached to your eye 👁 for too long, the natural curve can flatten out and the lashes may not firmly attach to your eye line as easily as before for future uses.
Not to mention, if you don’t store your lashes in their original packaging, you may lose the lashes…
…believe me when I say that these babies are easy to misplace if you are not well organized and leave them somewhere other than their original packaging. 💯
Talk about frustrating! 😥
There is nothing worse than getting ready and then realizing your magnetic lashes are no wear to be found.
So…store your lashes! Enough said.
Let’s do this together step-by-step...
…We’ll keep it very simple for you to ensure you don’t skip any steps in this important lash care process.
Step 1: Remove Your Lashes
At the end of the day, make sure you remove your magnetic lashes.
Although the lashes can last up to 24 hours and I have slept in them without problems, it is best to remove them before going to bed.
You can imagine your face firmly pressed into the pillow for many hours which may cause the lashes to lose their shape or come off in a sea of sheets, blankets, and pillows…which you may not be able to find. 🧐

With your hands sanitized, remove your magnetic lashes with your fingers or Everylash applicator (tweezers) as you prefer.
I usually carefully peel the lashes off starting from the outer corner of my eye and toward the inner corner of my eye. 👀
Step 2: Clean Your
Magnetic Lashes
A. Soak the cotton q-tip with non-oil-based makeup remover.
B. Then, place the lash on a firm surface while gently, but firmly gripping one end of the lash to keep it in place.
C. Next, gently stroke your lashes in the same direction along the lash band to remove any residue of eyeliner, mascara, or eyeshadow.
NOTE: Remember to be very careful and extra delicate in this step to avoid damaging the 10 micro magnets or the lash hairs or band.
Step 3: Comb your lashes (optional or occasional)
If needed, use the comb that comes with your Everylash Applicator to carefully comb your lashes.
Combing allows your individual lash hairs to return to their original place.
This may be important, for example, if the lashes get stuck together due to the magnetic liner that may have gotten on them. Or, if you use a lot of makeup remover, the hairs may cling together and you don’t want them to dry this way.
Step 4: Store Your Lashes
Put the clean lashes back into their original packaging to keep them safe (i.e. you don’t lose them and they don’t get damaged) and to ensure they hold their original shape as discussed before.
Step 5: Clean Your Eyes
With your magnetic lashes perfectly cleaned and stored, now it’s your turn!
Let’s remove the magnetic liner from your eyelids.
- Simply apply the makeup remover on a cotton swab or q-tip and gently rub the exact line of magnetic eyeliner on your eyelid making very gentle movements.
- After removing the liner completely, move forward with your regular facial cleansing and skincare routine as you prefer.
There you have it!
