Applying Magnetic Lashes: The Importance of Measuring Your Lashes
Applying Magnetic Lashes:
The Importance of Measuring Your Lashes
The very first step when applying your magnetic lashes 🧲 for the first time is to measure the lashes on your eyelids.
Why?
Well, to check if the lash is the right size for your eyes out of the box. 👁
You can do this by holding the lash to your eye and lining it up with your eye line where it will naturally go after it is applied.
So, what exactly are you looking for when you do this?
Well, we are looking for the width of the lash in comparison to the width of your eyelid line.
In contrast, we are NOT assessing or scrutinizing the length of the lash.
This may be obvious to say, but is very important to consider…
The “length” of the lash is defined by the length of the lash hairs and how extreme the curl of these hairs is. This aspect of the lash design is not something you should attempt to change because you will likely damage the lashes.
If you want different styles of lashes such as shorter lashes, more glamorous lashes, lashes with more curl, etc., then you should check out our 20 different lashes designs that come in many different shapes and sizes perfect for any occasion.

Now, on the other hand, you DO have control over the width of the lash.
The width of the lash is how long it is from side-to-side across the entire lash band, which is the strip that connects all the individual lash hairs together and where the 10 magnets are placed on each lash.
So, then, what is the ideal lash width? 🧐
Well, it really depends on your personal artistic preference and intuition.
Nonetheless, it’s a good rule of thumb to know that if the lash covers your entire eye line from the outer edge of your eyelid to the inner edge of your eyelid, the magnetic lash should never be poking you on either corner of your eye. 👀
If this is happening, the lash is too big and we highly recommend that you trim them ✂️ to a shorter length that fits your eye size and shape.
“Trim my lashes?” you make ask with a sudden gasp of horror.
Don’t worry!
Trimming your lashes is not as scary as it sounds 😰.
We’ll cover how to do this without ruining your new lashes in the next step of this guide.

And, when trimming your lashes, there’s really no hard and fast rule about how wide the lash should be on your eye…
But, if the lash is too big for your eye, it’ll make you look silly and the result will be super unnatural and unflattering.
Even if you really want to go for the full glam look, we still recommend you leave several millimeters of space in between your inner eye and where the lash band starts.
This same size of gap does not apply to the outer corner of your eye. If you so desire, you can easily apply the lash band almost all the way to the outer corner as long as it is not poking you.
Aside from these minimal guidelines, it’s completely up to you to choose the width of your magnetic lash! 🥳
